SUPPORT

Our club takes a lot of work to keep it running, and there’s a variety of ways you can help. Check them out below.

Volunteer

The life blood of the club, our volunteers help us provide the best possible experiences. With great flexibility from one hour a week to one hour a year, direct work with young people to behind the scenes, keep yourself young at heart with us.

Hire

Our building has some great hireable spaces; a main hall, a kitchen with basic facilities, a smaller back room, and a wellbeing room. We are available for hire by our members (e.g. birthday parties) and for youth-related activities.

Donations

Whether a one-off, standing order, or joining the 50:50 draw, your donations make a huge difference to our work. You can make a general contribution to our work or specify what you wish your money be spent on.

What can I do?

What do you want to do? Our helpers help provide the best possible experiences. Without them, we can’t open the doors. It doesnt have to be what we want though. Maybe you’ve a skill or hobby you’d like to share. We’d love to see it. We always need more support and are really flexible on roles and time commitments. Whether it’s selling tuck, crafting, running games, sourcing resources cheaply from home, maintaining the premises, sitting on the committee, assisting with fundraising, explaining the finer points of getting pool shots on target, assisting with cooking, or something else that takes your fancy, the list is endless as to what you can do. If you’re an adult, you’re already qualified to help.

Who’s clock watching? Let’s talk time commitment

Whether an hour once a year or an hour every week, grab it with both hands. Honestly, you’ll love being a part of us. Maybe not immediately – it can be daunting, like it sometimes is for some of the young people, but if they can conquer the fear of turning their hand to new things, we know you can too. Your commitment can be as big or as a small as you want, and if things change, we understand. If you’d rather do more back room stuff like admin, maintenance, or cleaning, that gives our youth work team more time to focus on the programme.

Being part of it

Get in touch and we’ll talk you through our painless onboarding process. If you’re a parent helping for a one-off we won’t leave you unsupervised and we’ll show you the expectations during an evening. If you find you want to help more regularly, you’ll have an DBS and will need to undertake some form of safeguarding training, but it is all straightforward and we’ll help every step of the way. If you wish to do first aid training, this can be arranged. We’ll sort that too.

Are you a trainee Youth Worker? Studying for a Youth and Community Degree? Our Youth Worker is JNC Qualified and thus able to act at Supervisor for any of your direct contact hours as required.

Hire

Lobby

A warm welcome awaits.
From the free public parking outside, there’s step and ramp access to the main door. The lobby is part carpeted for dirty shoes and packs a green punch to show the fun that can be had inside. Whilst this space is a main fire exit, it is possible to put a table here to use the space as a signing-in area if required. and still have space to get in and out.

Hall

 A space for everything.
Our 13×6.5m hall receives good natural light during the day. The lights flood it too so it’s ideal for parties, activities, and games. Three large heaters make this space toasty in the winter. Toilets are accessed from this room. Electrical sockets are aplenty and the hall can be seen from the kitchen window (seen in the picture at the far end). No hard ball games or similar activities that could damage the ceiling are allowed.

Hive

A cosy cafe kitchen at our heart.
This is where everyone escapes to. Our small inviting cafe with prints of London and New York and is a useful space for meetings of eight. The kitchen has a a sink, cooker, microvate, kettle, fridge, and toaster, as well as a variety of mugs and plates to suit small group hire. Our servery is ideal for events where you want to present a more professional look without everybody being in the kitchen. The bonus with the kitchen is that one window looks to the main hall, another to the back room, so adults can keep tabs on everything that is happening from the one location.

Hangout

Good things come in small packages.
Our back room may be small in comparison to the main hall but tucked away it’s our hidden gem. The softer tones and sofas make this a useful space for meetings, small group work, breakout space, cloakroom, somewhere to relax and unwind, whatever you need. You name it, it has happened. It is quite a full room with the youth club resources but is spacious enough for a variety of needs.

Haven

Need a place to work or study away from home?

Then look no further, our recently adapted room has become the perfect place to focus without destraction.

Consisting of soft lighting, desks, computers and wifi we have everything need for a quiet confortable space.

Hiring

Hire of the premises is a set price to cover the entire space even if only one is used.

Please see terms and conditions of hire. In accordance with our lease terms with the Parish Council, we can only hire to non-youth club members and non youth-related activities if the village hall is unavailable.
