Our youth work programme is headed up by the only paid member of staff, Roy, the Youth Worker. Without our dedicated team of volunteers though we simply couldn’t function.

Roy Peach
Youth Worker
Roy’s lived in Oxford all his life, restarting KYC in June 2017.
He has a BA (Hons) in Youth Work and 20 years’ experience working with young people through work (education, local authority, charities) and volunteer roles (Scouts and theatre).
His focus has always been on young people’s wellbeing with his dissertation on mental health and the affects of mindfulness on disaffected youth. He is Charity Manager for Wolvercote Young People’s Club (another club that was facing an uncertain time and is now excelling) and owns his own youth wellbeing and coaching business. He enjoys theatre and writing.

Session Supporters and Parent Helpers
We have a couple of Session Supporters who are volunteers with experience in youth organisations who help out on a semi-regular basis, usually for particular activities, such as cooking or outdoors. Members of the committee volunteer their time to sessions too. Our parent helpers tend to offer help a couple of sessions a year.
Some of the tasks undertaken by our team, whether Youth Support Helper or Parent Helper, include:
- Helping on club nights, supervising games and helping the young people perfect their dart’s throw
- Organisation and supervising cooking activities on club nights
- Selling tuck on club nights
- Fundraising
- Admin support
- DIY of the building and equipment
- Cleaning
- Equipment sourcing and purchasing
